"My work is rooted in an ongoing exploration of instinct, gesture, and material presence.
I’ve always been drawn to art that reflects an immediacy of the handmade — where marks feel intuitive, unresolved, and human.
I refer to this approach as Modern Primitive: a practice that merges contemporary art and design principles with primal, organic influence.
Across paintings and objects alike, sporadic lines and gestural forms act as visual metaphors for movement through life—moments of disorder giving way to clarity through restraint, patience, and intention.
Unconventional materials, references to Art Brut, and organic forms drawn from mid-century modern design occasionally enter the work, reinforcing a balance between raw expression and considered structure.
Each piece ultimately emerges from trusting instinct, embracing imperfection and honoring simplicity as a means for connection to nature, process, and a human presence within the work."
