I’ve always been drawn to works of art that have an immediacy of reference to the handmade gesture.

Each of these pieces are inspired from an aesthetic world view approach, that I call “Modern Primitive” — A practice of creating work in which the pieces themselves are an ongoing study and spiritual exploration of blending contemporary art & design elements, with primal influences.

The sporadic and spontaneous nature that is associated with a “scribble” or “squiggle” , is something that I find as a direct relation to how I live my life.

At times lost in a complicated, tangled mess, only to find that slow, conscious, methodical movements will help you find your direction.

Occasionally, untraditional materials like coffee, aspects inspired by “Art-Brut”, and organic design elements that resemble mid-century modern aesthetics, are also worked into my compositions.

Each piece’s final result comes from trusting innate instinct, accessing a childlike spirit, emphasizing simplicity, rawness, a connection to nature, and most importantly— honoring the beauty of imperfection as a testament to the human touch.
